Kitchen Flooring

When Choosing kitchen floors there are many options available to you. We have made a list below with a short description of each to help you with your selection.

Vinyl: When you choose vinyl, you’ll need to decide on a style of vinyl. There are endless options of colors and patterns. The best part is you never have to worry about water discoloring the floor. Also there is no maintenance other than sweeping and mopping. Vinyl flooring resists scuffs and stains.

Laminate: Laminate flooring resembles hardwood or stone. While still offering the same maintenance of vinyl.  Laminate flooring is great because it doesn't get damaged by liquids like a real wood floor would. Laminate flooring is extremely durable and can handle those areas where you get a lot of traffic in your home. The best part is, its only a fraction of the cost real wood is.

Stone: The most common stones for the kitchen floor are granite, marble, and slate. Stone is one of the toughest and most durable flooring for the kitchen.

Ceramic Tile:  Ceramic tiles are made from pressed clays covered with a glaze of metallic oxides and ceramic stains or finished with a matte surface. Porcelain mosaic tiles are baked at a higher temperature, which makes them thicker. The spaces between the tiles are filled in by grout. Some advantages of ceramic tile is there are many different sizes, patterns, and colors to choose from. Ceramic tile is very durable, and stain resistant. No special cleaning required other than sweeping and mopping.

Wood: Wood flooring is amazingly beautiful and looks great in just about any kitchen. Oak and maple are the most common choices for kitchen flooring. Wood floors are very easy to maintain, just vacuum or broom and thats it.

Linoleum: Linoleum flooring is great if your looking for the quiet, smooth, comfortable look and feel. Linoleum flooring is very durable and hard to dent. Also linoleum flooring is environmentally friendly.

Concrete: Concrete flooring is just as durable as tile and stone. If going to have radiant heat this is the best choice for you flooring. There are several colors and finishes in concrete flooring.

Carpet: If you’d like to place carpeting in your kitchen work area, choose something durable, such as a tight berber made out of a stain-resistant material like olefin. We don't recommend this type of flooring but if your more concerned with being quiet and comfortable this is the choice for you.
